Sandbox money doesn’t move by itself. These tools push payments, connections and schedules through their real lifecycle so you can test what happens next.
Move a payment through its lifecycle
- Open wp-admin → BankBridge → Transfers.
- On a transfer row open Simulate… and pick
posted,settled,funds_available,returnedorfailed. - BankBridge calls Plaid’s
/sandbox/transfer/simulate, syncs the events and updates the status — and any WooCommerce order or membership tied to it.
Typical paths: posted → settled → funds_available (success), or posted → returned (an ACH return; recurring schedules stop on hard returns).
Fast-forward recurring payments
- Open Sandbox Toolkit → Recurring payments time machine.
- Pick a connection and account, an amount and schedule, and click Create on a test clock.
- In Transfers → Recurring payments use ⏩ +7 days or +30 days: Plaid advances the clock, originates the payments due, and BankBridge adopts them.
Connections
- Create a test connection without Link for any user, institution, test user, preset or your own JSON config.
- Create connections for a whole Sandbox Studio persona (college student, small business owner, retiree…).
- Force re-authentication (Reset login) to put a connection into
ITEM_LOGIN_REQUIRED. - Add transactions to a
user_transactions_dynamicconnection.
Fire a webhook
Sandbox Toolkit → Fire a webhook asks Plaid to send a webhook for a connection: TRANSACTIONS (SYNC_UPDATES_AVAILABLE, DEFAULT_UPDATE, RECURRING_TRANSACTIONS_UPDATE), ITEM (ERROR, NEW_ACCOUNTS_AVAILABLE, PENDING_DISCONNECT, LOGIN_REPAIRED, USER_PERMISSION_REVOKED, USER_ACCOUNT_REVOKED), AUTH, HOLDINGS, INVESTMENTS_TRANSACTIONS, LIABILITIES, ASSETS and IDENTITY.
Plaid delivers webhooks to your site’s public URL. On this local demo (127.0.0.1) they can’t arrive — use the Simulate tools and the Refresh buttons, or expose the site with a tunnel and set Settings → Webhooks → Webhook URL override.
API Explorer
BankBridge → API Explorer lists all 232 Plaid endpoints with ready-made request bodies; placeholders such as the access token are filled in server-side, so you can call any endpoint for a connection without ever seeing its token.
